When to Use a Pencil Vs Liquid Eyeliner

Eyes are the most important aspect of the human face. It is true that Eyeliner Pencil can never lie which is why they often end up surfacing the emotional changes happening inside men and women. Eyes are considered to show people’s emotion, so when you look into someone's eyes you either get a positive or a negative feeling about him. On the whole, eyes often act as an amplifier for many who think they can fool the world by simply keeping mum and staring into the thin air, for that is what is been happening until now.

There are two types, pencil and liquid. Some are waterproof, and some are not. Which you choose is largely a matter of preference. Some swear that pencil gives you more of a smokey look as it is designed to smudge while liquid eyeliner gives you a more dramatic effect with more control in application. With a skilled hand and a high-end product, you could achieve the desired effect with either. However, some effects do lend themselves to one product over the other.

Liquid and pencil eyeliner are as different as night and day in terms of appearance, application and longevity. In general, pencil eyeliner is recommended for novices because it is easier to apply. Applying liquid eyeliner is also easier once a makeup artist has mastered the basics of applying eyeliner, and learned to steady his or her hand. Some people develop a preference for one type of eyeliner early on, however, and simply like the look of it over the other. Both liquid and pencil eyeliner have their own advantages and disadvantages, and neither is “better” than the other overall.

Smokey Eyes

Most women use an eyeliner pencil to achieve a sexy, smokey look. The line is applied to the top eyelid as well as the bottom and then smudged to soften the edges. Sometimes women also apply liner in a tight line, which is on the skin between the eyeball and the lash line. This dramatic application is best for evening.

Natural Eyes

Liquid liners provide the thinnest line, which is needed to achieve the natural look. Whether the eyeshadow is needed is all depends on your own. The thin line is applied next to the lashes. This sleek look is great for day wear.

Cat Eyes

The dramatic effect of cat eyes is also best achieved with liquid liner. In this look, the liner is extended beyond the corner crease of the eye toward the temple. It can be applied in a thick or thin line and can be done with multiple colors for a more dramatic effect. When adding colored liner, usually the darker base color is applied first at the lash line with a colored line drawn immediately above it.
